A PIA flight from Istanbul just missed a disaster. When a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) aircraft had a technical problem on the runway while it was taxiing for departure at Istanbul International Airport, the trip was delayed.
A national flag airline representative stated that there was a problem with the landing gear on the flight from Istanbul to Islamabad.
The representative also said that the pilot brought the aircraft back to the boarding bridge in a safe manner by applying the emergency brake right away. Thankfully, the small incident resulted in no injuries.
The airplane is grounded at Istanbul Airport pending inspection, and the passengers have moved back inside the passenger lounge.
The national flag carrier recently announced the restart of its flight operations from two places to Malaysia in separate announcements. The national carrier, according to a spokeswoman, would run four flights each week, two from each of Islamabad and Lahore, to Kuala Lumpur.
Additionally, PIA intends to shortly raise the number of weekly. According to the spokeswoman, the airline would shortly start operating flights from Karachi as well.
