TikTok removed 18 million videos from Pakistan within three months. TikTok has released its most recent Community Guidelines Enforcement Report covering the fourth quarter of 2023 as part of its ongoing efforts to promote a safe and encouraging online community. In keeping with its mission to foster trust and provide a secure platform for its worldwide community, TikTok has demonstrated its commitment to transparency, safety, and inclusivity with this release.
Around 1.0% of all videos submitted on TikTok were removed between October and December of 2023 as a result of the platform’s proactive efforts. 176 million films were removed globally. Eight million of these were restored after additional examination, however, a significant majority of these, 128 million videos, were recognized and eliminated using automated detection technology.
The platform displayed its determination to successfully tackle violations in the fourth quarter by taking action against 18 million videos for violating its Community Guidelines in Pakistan alone. In addition, TikTok adopted strong efforts to stop the spread of automated spam accounts and actively pursued spam accounts and related content.
Remarkably, a whopping 95.3% of videos that deviated from the criteria were taken down within a day of their release, and the proactive removal percentage for the quarter was a staggering 99.5% worldwide. To protect younger users worldwide, TikTok also removed 19.84 million accounts that might have belonged to people under the age of 13.
In order to foster an atmosphere that is secure, welcoming, and genuine for every user, without exception, TikTok has created its Community Guidelines. Every user and piece of material is subject to the same enforcement procedures, and TikTok makes an effort to apply the rules fairly and consistently.
Through the use of cutting-edge technology and human control, TikTok finds, examines, and removes content that violates its policies. TikTok’s dedication to complete openness is demonstrated by the regular release of the Community Guidelines Enforcement Report, which provides insights into the scope and nature of content and account actions.
